Disclaimer:
At AnimALL Mobile Veterinary Service, we are proud to offer convenient and compassionate telemedicine services for established patients. However, due to legal and ethical veterinary standards, there are important limitations you should be aware of before utilizing these services.
Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) Requirement
A valid Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) must be established through an in-person examination before any telemedicine services—including consultations, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or prescriptions—can be provided. This is required under Georgia state law and most jurisdictions.
Limitations of Telemedicine
Telemedicine is a valuable tool for follow-ups, behavioral consultations, and certain wellness discussions, but it cannot replace a physical examination for establishing a VCPR. In Georgia, a VCPR cannot be legally established via telemedicine alone. Only a few states allow the establishment of a VCPR through virtual means, and Georgia is not currently one of them.
Disclaimer of Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prescriptions
Without an established VCPR, our veterinarians are legally prohibited from diagnosing medical conditions, recommending or administering treatments, or prescribing medications via telemedicine. These services require a physical, hands-on evaluation of your pet to ensure safe and appropriate care.
Inability to Establish a VCPR Through Telemedicine
Please note that telemedicine alone does not qualify as establishing a VCPR under Georgia law. If you are a new client, or if your pet has not been seen in person within the past 12 months, we will need to schedule an in-home examination before any telemedicine-based care can be initiated.
